Please join us out at Camp Highroad, November 11 - 13, as we take a couple days out of our crazy daily routines to do a little spiritual reflection, get to know our fellow church members a little better and do something that no man can resist… burn things down! (Well ok, it’s just a campfire but the operative word here is “fire” and what man can resist that ;-)

For those of you that haven’t been there before, let me set the scene for you. It’s a cool, crisp, Friday fall evening and you pull up to the lodge building at Camp Highroad. The intoxicating smell of that night’s dinner, Roasted Pork and Chestnut stew over warm Corn Spoon Bread (gee I wonder who’s going to make that :-) hangs in the air and the prospect of spending a couple days with a good group of guys out in the peaceful countryside lays ahead of you. You check in, get your room assignment, unpack your bags and head back into the Great Hall for a great meal and good conversation. After dinner we kick off with a “get to know you” session and an overview of the next day’s activities. This year we will be getting to know Jesus’ Dad, Joseph, a little better through bible passages, break out discussions and a movie on Saturday evening. After the kick off, we typically gather around the camp fire (see I told you there would be fire) chat, sing a f ew songs if the spirit moves us and generally just let the weight of every day worries and concerns slip away for at least the next 24 to 36 hours. I encourage you all to consider attending. I attended last year for the first time and I can tell you that it was a great “battery recharging” experience that I don’t plan to miss this year or for years to come. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hope to see you all there.
