Nursery and Preschool Sunday School Guidelines

In an effort to keep our nursery and Sunday school classes safe and efficient, we have developed some guidelines for parents and volunteers.  Please take the time to read them over so we can work as a team for our youngest members.

Nursery Guidelines

Parents and Volunteers, please do the following each Sunday:
• Parents sign-in your child.
• Notify workers/teachers of any food allergies.
• Make sure each child has a nametag.
• All bottles and cups must be labeled with child’s name.
• Make sure your child’s bag has his/her name on it.
• No outside food.  Due to allergies, please serve only AUMC provided Cheerios in the older (toddler) nursery.
• Please do not move toys among classrooms.
• Please put away all toys before leaving.
• When two volunteers are present, assign one as the door greeter  and one to be the child monitor.
• Use Lysol wipes and spray in cabinet to clean toys as needed.
• You must be 16 years or older to carry babies.


Preschool Guidelines

Parents and Volunteers, please do the following each Sunday:
• Parents sign-in your child.
• Notify workers/teachers of any food allergies.
• Make sure each child has a nametag.
• No food or drink in preschool room due to allergies.
• Please do not move toys among classrooms.
• Please put away all toys before leaving.
• Please do not allow children to bring toys from home to Sunday School.
• Use only supplies in the marked Sunday School cabinet.


Grades K-5 Sunday School Guidelines

Parents and Volunteers, please do the following each Sunday:
• Parents sign-in your child.
• Notify workers/teachers of any food allergies.
• Make sure each child has a nametag.
• No food or drink in classrooms due to allergies.
• Please do not move supplies among classrooms.
• Please put away all supplies before leaving.
• Use only supplies in the marked Sunday School cabinet.

Child Protection Policy

All volunteers who work with children and youth will complete an online volunteer application including reviewing the child protection policy and providing 2 references.
