Christmas Alternative Giving

Many people choose to give alternative gifts for Christmas.  We would like to encourage this process as a way to celebrate the coming of grace in Jesus Christ. To that end, please consider donating to one of the following charities as a gift.

Just download the form, attach a check made out the Arcola Church (note who the gift is in honor of and their address), and send it to the church or place it in the offering plate on Sunday.  A card will be sent to the person in whose honor you donated. The church will send one check to each group for the total amount given.  The groups we have chosen to highlight are:

• LAWS—Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter—see www.lcsj.org for details of their work
• Loudoun Interfaith Relief—they feed people who are hungry
• Hands Together Ministry in Rio Bravo, Mexico.  We build needed facilities including homes and schools.  For details, see www.okumcministries.org/vim/HTM/hands_together_ministry_Mexico.asp.
• Loudoun Heating Oil Assistance—provides assistance to eligible residents of Loudoun County whose household contains a vulnerable person (child, elderly, or disabled) in paying natural and propane gas, electric, water, and heat source utilities.
