Advent and Christmas 2008
Sunday, November 30 marks the start of the season of Advent where we prepare our hearts and lives for the coming of Christ.
Some points to note:
• Gingerbread Houses - We will gather Sunday night, December 7, for our annual gingerbread house decorating event. Please sign up using the downloadable form or the form in the narthex. Questions? Contact Robin Schaffler.
• Hanging of the Greens - All are welcome to join in on Saturday, November 29, from 9:00 - 11:00 am to decorate the campus for the Christmas season. Contact Molly Riedel with questions.
• Poinsettias - You can purchase poinsettias for the sanctuary using forms in the narthex or click here to download a form. Contact Molly Riedel at mollyriedel@aol.com or (703) 815-4259 with questions.
• Worship Schedule - Please be sure to review our December 2008 worship schedule by clicking here.
• Christmas Missions - Once again, we will continue our Christmas missions with Christmas Alternative Giving and the CCCA Christmas Tree.
• "The Legend of the Christmas Queen" - The Children's Chime Choir will be performing this musical on Sunday, December 14 at the 9 and 10:30 worship services. Only nursery and preschool care will be offered this day.
• Breakfast with Santa - The Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department will hold their Annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 6 from 8:30 am - 12 noon at Arcola UMC.
