The Serving Others form is Arcola United Methodist Church’s tool that allows you to use your Spiritual Gifts in our mission to “Praise the Lord, learn His teachings and share His love through service to others.”  Service opportunities are grouped in several categories. Please put a check beside each area of service in which you want to participate.

PRAISE


WORSHIP

I am willing to be a Communion Server during the:
  9:30 service.
 11:00 service.
I am willing to be a Worship Leader, on a rotating basis during the:
  9:30 service.

I am willing to deliver and serve communion to a homebound person once a month.
I am willing to perform dramatic readings or participate in a drama for worship services and/or special events.

MUSIC MINISTRY

I am willing to participate in the FLN (Famous Last Note) Choir which practices Thursday nights 7:30-9:00 to provide music for the 11:00 worship service.
I am willing to participate in the Bandette which practices Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00 to provide music for the 9:30 worship Service.
My child/I am willing to participate in the AYC (Arcola Youth Choir grades 6-12) practices TBD.

CONNECTION MINISTRY

Greeter/Usher Team
I am willing to serve on a rotating schedule as a greeter/usher for the:

Refreshment Provider Team
I am willing to serve on a rotating schedule as a refreshment provider for the:
9:30 service
 11:00 service

Hospitality Worker Team
I would like to serve on the Hospitality Team on a rotating schedule to set-up and clean-up refreshments for the:
  9:30 service
 11:00 service

Events Team
 I would like to serve as a worker on the Events Team to provide support for New Member Dinners, Visitor Fellowship Dinners, Breakfast with Santa, Church picnic and like events.

I would like to help with the Gingerbread House assembly and with the event.
 Set up for the event.
 Clean up after the event.

Parking Team
I would like to serve on the Parking Team for special times such as Easter and other major events where overflow crowds are expected.

MISSIONS

Arcola Outreach Board
I am interested in serving on the Arcola Outreach Board.  This group provides support for all of the outreach missions at Arcola Church.

Loudoun County Homeless Shelter
I would like to serve with a mission team to provide services for the homeless at the Loudoun County Shelter.
I would like to help sort and inventory children's clothes.
 I would like to help collecting and inventorying shelter supplies.
 I would like to help with the collection and distribution of Christmas gifts for shelter residents.
I would like to be part of a team and prepare dinner for 10-12 people once/quarter.
 I would like to work on the pick-up delivery team for those folks in transition who move from the shelter to housing.

SOME (So Others Might Eat)
I would like to work with the SOME team to prepare breakfast for hungry people in D.C.:
 on the 1st Sunday of the month.
 on the 4th Wednesday of the month.

Mexico Mission Trip 
I would like to travel to Rio Bravo, Mexico June17-23, 2012 to help with construction (for Senior High Youth and Adults).

Habitat for Humanity Mission Trip
 I would like to travel to Pendleton, West Virginia to help with construction with Habitat for Humanity July 22-27, 2012. (for grades 6-12 and Adults).


CARE

CARE MINISTRY

I would like to help church families who are ill or who have an emergency by providing:
meals
transportation to medical appointments
childcare
help with household chores

I would like to help with the Care Ministry:
 by meeting monthly as part of the Care Ministry at Arcola Church to provide ideas and support.
 by serving on the Health an Wellness Ministry Team.
by being a coordinator on a rotation basis for Angels on Call (AOC).
by making baby blankets or other comfort items.
by helping with The Legends 55+ Club monthly luncheons.
 by serving on the email Prayer Team.
by sending cards of care to our Arcola family as needed.
 by being trained to visit those in our congregation who are unable to attend church or are in the hospital.

I would like to help our Prayers and Squares Ministry by:
donating money and/or supplies to make prayer quilts.
making the quilts and/or teaching others
assisting in the quilt making process (no quilting experience necessary) 


COMMUNICATION TEAM


I would like to serve on the Communication Team as:
 a graphic designer for printed/web communication such as brochures, flyers
a tech advisor for web communications


ADMINISTRATION

I am willing to serve on a rotating basis as a member of a team that helps mow and edge the church lawn.
I am willing to help maintain/repair lawn equipment.
I am willing to help trim shrubs and maintain flowerbeds and trees.
 I am willing to serve on a rotating schedule to take recyclables to a recycling station.
I would be interested in using my accounting/finance background and skills to support the operation or oversight of the financial aspects of the church.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

I have experience in:
 Conducting process or team evaluations and would be willing to lead/participate in supporting Arcola's efforts to continuously improve our Ministry Programs.
 Team building/facilitation skills and would interested in leading/participating on an ad-hoc basis.
 Performance management (developing appropriate goals, establishing metrics, tracking and reporting) and would be willing to lead/participate in helping Arcola track our performance to goals.
