Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter throughout the year.

Growing In Faith: This
small group is a mixed group of people who want to learn more about
growing in faith through Bible study/discussion and serving others in a
meaningful way. Membership is always open and visitors are welcome and
we only ask that you be ready to share your ideas and questions. A
typical evening starts with social time at 7:15pm followed by sharing
joys and concerns and then a period of open discussion on selected
Bible passages. Beside meeting most Tuesday evenings, the group
typically meets three to four times a year for a social dinner, a movie
night, a Christmas party and a summer family picnic. Come and explore
what you think you know about your faith and how you can grow building
on what you already know.
o Meets at the church from 7:15 - 9pm on Tuesdays.
o Leaders: Rick & Sara Dawson
Wednesday Morning Bible Study: This group gathers to share joys and concerns, read and discuss the Bible and support each other in our walk.
o Meets in Chapel A from 10 – 11:30am.
o Leader: Chris Riedel
Wednesday Evening Bible Study: “The Bible – What’s In It for Me?”
The Apostle Paul tells his friend Timothy that “Everything in the
Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping
people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.” (2 Tim 3:16)Currently,
the group is studying the book of Acts. We continue to learn how Paul
lived out Jesus’ “Great Commission” during his Third Journey (52-57 AD)
as told starting in Acts 18:23.
By extension, we continue to focus on how we are to live out Jesus’
command to “go” and make disciples, i.e., how to be active participants
rather than enthusiastic spectators. Join us at any time for fun and
fellowship as we learn. All are welcome!
o Meets from 7:15 - 8:45pm in the Fellowship Hall
o Leaders: Bill & Bonnie Miller
The Bandette: This
fledgling band, formed last year, has its collective feet wet now and
is looking to go knee-deep during the coming year. Currently
consisting of keyboard, guitar, bass, harmonica, percussion, and three
vocalists, this group is actively seeking musicians and singers to join
them--no previous experience necessary! The Bandette covers
contemporary Christian music.
o Meets Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8pm in the Great Room--at least to start, the practices may be adjusted to accommodate members' schedules.
o Leader: Geoff Gay
The Fabulous Last Note (FLN) Choir: This
choir, which leads music at the 11am service each week, performs a
variety of styles of worship music over the course of the year, from
traditional to contemporary to spirituals to jazz (but they do have
limits: no Gregorian Chants!). A wonderful singing voice is not
required; what IS required is a desire to: worship God through words
and music, help the congregation do the same, and share in Christian
fellowship with a close-knit small group. Join us!
o Meets Thursdays in the Great Room 7:30pm to 9pm.
o Leader: Geoff Gay
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): This group is ongoing @ 8pm on Thursdays in the Chapel.
Couples Seminar Course: This is a 7 week small
group focused on Couplehood. Each week using the guidance of an Imago
study guide and DVD lessons, participants are encouraged to see their
relationship within the context of their larger spiritual life and
longings. This group will help couples learn a new way to talk and to
listen, co-create a relationship vision and acquire the skills to
manifest this vision, discover the uniqueness of one’s spouse and
uncover the opportunities for emotional and spiritual growth. Childcare
upon request.
o Meets Friday nights October 15 – November 19 from 7 – 9 pm.
o Leader: Molly Riedel
