Tuesday Evening Bible Study - "Growing in Faith" - This small group is a mixed group of people who want to learn more about growing in faith through Bible study/discussion and serving others in a meaningful way. Membership is always open and visitors are welcome. We only ask that you be ready to share your ideas and questions. A typical evening starts with social time at 7:15pm followed by sharing joys and concerns and then a period of open discussion on selected Bible passages. In addition to meeting most Tuesday evenings, the group typically meets three to four times a year for a social dinner, a movie night, a Christmas party and a summer family picnic. Come and explore what you think you know about your faith and how you can grow building on what you already know.
o Meets from 7:15pm until 9:00pm at the church.

Mom’s Group - This group brings mothers of young children together in a Christian atmosphere where children can play and moms can visit. The group holds a playgroup every other Wednesday. On the last Tuesday of the month, they have a Mom's Night Out. The group also provides a great network of other moms to draw on for advice and support (in person and through email). Throughout the year the group plans a few child-friendly outings and may also participate in mission projects. Moms can attend whenever their schedules permit; the group ids very flexible and does not require attendance at every meeting. All moms are welcome, but most children present will be 4 and under.
o Meets every other week beginning Feb. 3 from
10:00 am -11:30 am in Chapel B
o Leader:
Suzanne Lyles
* Wednesday Evening Bible Study - “The Bible – What’s In It for Me?” The Apostle Paul answers this question when writing to his young friend Timothy that “Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.” (2 Tim 3:16)
Currently, the group is studying and practicing the spiritual discipline of prayer. Prayer will continue to be an ongoing focus. Starting the 3rd of February we will begin studying the book of Acts. We will learn how the apostles of Jesus lived out the "Great Commission". Further, using the Acts story as a source of inspiration and instruction, we will focus on how we are to live out Jesus' command to "go" and be his living and loving presence in the world - how to be active participants rather than enthusiastic spectators. Join us at any time for fun and fellowship as we learn. All are welcome!
o Meets from 7:15pm to 8:45pm in the Fellowship Hall
o Leaders: Bill & Bonnie Miller
* The Bandette - This fledgling band, formed last year, has its collective feet wet now and is looking to go knee-deep during the coming year. Currently consisting of keyboard, guitar, bass, harmonica, percussion, and three vocalists, this group is actively seeking musicians and singers to join them--no previous experience necessary! The Bandette covers contemporary Christian music.
o Meets 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Great Room--at least to
start, the practices may be adjusted to accommodate members'
schedules
o Leader: Geoff Gay
Thursday
*
Women’s Book Group - Ladies, do you sometimes feel lost in the craziness of life, need direction, or long for wisdom in your day-to-day decisions? If so, then join us for a study that applies the wisdom of the Book of Proverbs to ten primary concerns (heart-prints) in women's everyday lives. Through this study called "Perplexing Proverbs for Women", you'll discover how the Proverbs pertain to such issues as trusting God, finding contentment, cultivating friendships, handling emotions, managing finances, and utilizing time, as well as others. This Bible study should surely have a positive impact on your life and bring you to a more meaninfgul an closer walk with God. Each study begins with a short prayer, has a specific lesson, closes with a proverb upon which to meditate, and contains a journaling section for your personal thoughts about the lesson.
o Meets at 7pm rotating among member's homes
o Leaders:
Tina Moss &
Linda Turnau *
The Fabulous Last Note (FLN) Choir - This choir, which leads music at the 11:00 a.m. service each week, performs a variety of styles of worship music over the course of the year, from traditional to contemporary to spirituals to jazz (but they do have limits: no Gregorian Chants!). A wonderful singing voice is not required; what IS required is a desire to: worship God through words and music, help the congregation to do the same, and share in Christian fellowship with a close-knit small group. Join us!
